- Clover Court Chaos
Website N/A Builder The Shivelys,The Simpsons,The Hausers & others Address 518 Clover Ct --- Burlington, N.C. 27217 Description The Clover Court Chaos Haunt grows more every year. With neighbors, family & friends all pitching in for a great time.In recent times, we've had a deranged doctor complete with a surgical table, circular saw and other assorted "tools". You'll find a couple of graveyards in the area with Pete & Re-pete, a couple of malnourished cats along with Barney who hasn't had a dog treat in years. You may also see numerous ghouls walking about. There is also an electric chair with a not-so-willing participant. This year were adding a goth playground "for the kids". Wanna play? Also new is a cage with Hannibal Lecter. Oh, did I mention the best Jason & Zombie characters around. Remember "It's For The Kids"......RIGHT! HHA Forum ID

Website N/A Builder Jonathan Clayton/Ben Clayton/Eddie Lewis Address 7027 Passeres Court Charlotte, NC Description This will mark the 5th year of existence and the 3rd under the Spookstock name. The theme changes every year but there are three 'gazebo' entries the trick or treater will go through along with a graveyard and a few other scares. Candy is usually given out in the middle of the haunt, but is offered at the front of the haunt for the younger ones that are too frightened. We love doing it and hope to keep growing. We get around a 100 kids a year. HHA Forum ID

- Hauntersville
Website http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXHPeXrvTxw Builder Digger Address Intersection of Wynfield and Taunton Drive, Huntersville, NC Description Yard haunt that has been growing since 1978. Relocated from Omaha to Hauntersville in 1994. Most props are static with only a dozen that have been lucky enough to come alive with technology over the years. Goal of the haunt is to make it real enough to that the little ones that so that they are afraid to come to the door. No guts but as close as it can get and still be kid scary. It is a Haunted Mansion Yard Haunt with the goodies given out from the entry way blacked out and converted to a lab. Same monster giving candy from the lab for 30yrs.. kids know he will not talk but adults keep trying. :) Try to add 2-3 new items and retire the less real/store bought props each year so I can keep actual placement/setup to under 12 hrs. Famous for not setting up any props until Halloween-- takes 4 days to stage props and set up wiring/sound/lighting and 12 hours on Halloween to set props in place. No trace of event in the yard by sun up the next morning. HHA Forum ID

Website N/A Builder Jeff Hollifield Address 232 Fiddlers Knoll Court, Kernersville, NC 27284 Description We're basically just getting started in the home haunting hobby. 2009 will be the 2nd year for us holding a free haunted house for the neighborhood. But, in the short time we've been doing this, I've had fun building a number of classic haunt props: a FCG, a head-on-a-table illusion, a TCT, and a Dot Room, as well as variations on Pepper's Ghost. - Nightscare
Website N/A Builder The Luzzi Family Address 139 Whispering Creek Drive King, N.C. 27021 Description My family had always decorated quite a bit growing up in N.J. Since my wife and I moved to N.C. we have carried on the tradition. But the last 3-4 years our family has really started to build it up... into Nightscare. Our main Haunt is 40 x 30 cemetary, complete with a crypt and flying crank ghost. "Abbey" is the one that really started it. We really decorate the graveyard extensively. I have 2 large foggers and chillers to give it nice cover. We have a modified Monster in the Box (named Fred by my youngest). We also have a section where witches are being tortured, as well as a witch and warlock stirring their brew. Many ghosts and ghouls abound. This year we have several actors roaming the grounds as well: Michael, Jason, Freddy and Leatherface. Many lights, much fog, constant music and sound effects, and the chance to be scared by a classic horror character make NIGHTSCARE aHome Haunt worth checking out. HHA Forum ID

- Jones Hollow Cemetery
Website http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff314/rebelfederal/Halloween08/ Builder David Jones Address 336 Chapel Drive, Lexington NC. 27295 Description Pumpkins, a few carved pumpkins, is how Jones Hollow Cemetery started its first steps years ago towards the graveyard it has become today. Now the haunt has grown into this monster that consumes our front yard and most of my time from September through November of each year. Ever year it gets bigger, hopefully better, and every year more and more TOTs and their parents come to enjoy our home haunt. The core theme of the haunt is the graveyard, Jones Hollow Cemetery, and every year I try to build off and expand on the theme. Props range from static to motorize controlled, all with various forms of lighting to enhance the effect. The haunt also includes live actors such as the Voodoo Priestess in her shack in the swamp who is there to roll de bones, read the Runes, or looks into her Crystal Ball to read the stunned TOTs fortunes. Other special effects have been a horror movie projected from inside our house onto the front picture window which amazes the visitors and the giant pumpkin Scarecrow greeter. Along with this we have the Mausoleum with our flying crank ghost inside, a full size coffin with skeleton and grave digger, a flying witch on the roof and an ever expanding myriad of props, motion sensors, music, and lighting to go with it all. All I know is I keep on saying if it gets any bigger Im going to have to hire help to put it up and take it down! For me its worth all the hours I spend, while my poor suffering wife endures. Year after year I have the same families come back and say the haunt is the highlight of their Halloween. Some tell me they drive by our house weeks before Halloween night to check out the haunts progress as it goes up. Most of all to I know Ive succeeded when I hear the kiddies screaming there is no way they are going to get out of their parents car to come trick or treating at our house. Or when I see that little boy or girl trembling at the bottom of our driveway to afraid to walk up into Jones Hollow Cemetery.http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff314/rebelfederal/Halloween08/ HHA Forum ID
